L A Aluminum Casting Company Michelle Richter, Sales and Marketing Manager mrichter@laaluminum.com 208-772-3201
L A Aluminum Casting Company in Hayden, Idaho added one Mazak MSY 200 Dual-Spindle Live Tooling Lathe in January of 2009. They are adding a second, larger Mazak 350 Live Tooling Lathe later this month. The company has also added two new Reverse Tilt pouring machines to increase their casting capabilities.
Michelle Richter, Sales and Marketing Manager said, "Military contracts are responsible for the exponential growth of L A Aluminum in the last two years. Right now we have 2 new contracts in excess of $5 million dollars. These parts will all ship in 2010. The new equipment is part the first step in the process of restructuring our machine shop. The new machines will be part of flexible Lean cells which will better match the complexity of castings going through the machine shop on a daily basis. We will have flexible cells where we can run multiple operations in a variety of configurations. This will simplify our process and recapture floor space which was not actively used previously."
